That is sort of uncanny! You were definitely busy with your camera today:) Is the soldier a Confedrate? Just found my great great grandfather's name on the muster sheet of the New York
153rd. He was a corporal.

This is uncanny for sure! Interesting photos and yes, that house is still my mother's.

George E Pickett was a Confederate General at The Battle of Gerttysburg. On the last day of the battle July 3 1863 he lead his division of 12500 men in a charge against Union lines < They suffered 50% casulties,a decisive defeat, that ended the three day battle and Lee's invasion of Pennsylvania>

The likeness is almost surreal. Good history info too.

Paul Karabin owns Picketts Store in Perth..He is a Civil War reinactor having chosen George Pickett as his role> I became interested in Paul after The Recorder did an interview ..My intrest was piqued when Paul expressed the idea that the question of Slavery "had very little to do with causes of the war"

I am sure many in New York are not absolutly certian what the causes of the war were. I remember once reading the Articles of Secession for South Carolina..South Carolina was the first state to secessed and the rest followed this lead..]

Well It is a little late and I have to get up early and do the papers..
Stay tuned I will go into the document later
