You've Come A Long Way Baby
I think this is one of the most unusual Architectural /Industrial examples I have seen ..In 1886 the brick structure was built at what is now 60 School St in Fonda .The painting was done some time after wards and is in a collection which was displayed at Glen Town Day this year,,After seeing the painting I was told it was the District 6 School
..In 1936 The Kasson & Keller company started manufacturing windows in the basement of the school.You can see from the airiel view of the modern factory , that instead of demolishing the old building ,it was incorporated into a much larger structure
..Trish and I went on a tour with George Hays, The COO .He was very nice and showed us around the factory ,,We went out on the roof and saw the top two stories close up

If you look at the painting you can just make out the location of the green plaque over the front door ..It is in the second to last picture near the top .This image is inside the factory looking over the back of an employee at the plaque

Contrails/lLine
Contrails (short for candensation tails) are condensation of water vapor from plane engines..The vapor may form ice crystals which are then visible > I wonder if as a young person in the 50's was I alone with believing that lots of contrails meant that war was about to start..bombers going to Russia?? maybe it was my older brother spooking me..Did anyone else remember this?
