I really like the photo of the photographer! I sure know what you mean, but I bet you'll feel more comfortable once you have your brand new DSLR around your neck! :-) Will check out the Recorder for your 2nd subject!
I know what you mean about not having the guts to be more aggressive. It's something you just have to force yourself to do, and then it seems to get easier each time. You can do it, Phil! Nice shots, I love the one of the little boy and his commentary.
