THe Book Linda gave on Night Photography gives good outline as to what you might expect from taking picks in broadly lit scene.

He also suggests that snow scenes at night are interesting. Last AM after I finished my paper route.,I set out at 5 to see h9w it would go

After I got them back I was surprised to see some had a red tint while some had a green cast. Sanderson pointed out that there are two different types of street lights..Sodium Vapor gives the red hue while Flourescent gives the green.

As an example as to what you don't know until after you see the prints.look at the third picture, which shows both phenomina. The two green ones before the split scene are on the right side of the house facing east. The last post (#9) is on the left side of the house facing west

Great practice, Phil. That's the way to learn, just shoot, shoot, shoot and then compare and analyze. I'm just glad it wasn't me out there at 5 am--good post.
