Generally, I would agree with Linda on liking the close-up better. But in this case, I vote for the full-length version due to the subject matter. I think the first image is a better environmental portrait. That said, I do not like the person's legs showing on the left side. Next time, I would suggest asking that person to move (not that I would ever have the courage to do so!). I'm impressed with your "stick-to-it-ness"...I'm not sure I would have had your patience in waiting for the shot.
I had to wait 1.5 hrs for this shot and then he only gave it to me when I started screaming at him about Tora Bora.and Mt Surabachi .He is a ex marine
